Before entering seminary, I worked as a professional carpenter for three years and I was specialized in modern furniture. I realized that God was calling me when I was working for a small firm in the capital city of Cameroon in West Africa.

The most important thing that attracted me to the priesthood was the joy that is found in serving God’s people. Being chosen from among the people of God to serve as a bridge between God and his people attracted me to the priesthood.

My favorite Scripture passage is 1 John 4:16. “We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.” These words inspire me because it is only in the will of God that one can find the true meaning of life. Therefore, as Augustine puts it so interestingly, “Love God and do whatever you will.” He is aware that our love for God can only motivate us to act in a way that will please him. This is what powers my love for the service in God’s vineyard.
